Although I began my hypnotherapy training in 2002 after a loved one became emotionally ill. I have had a burning, almost evangelical desire to teach this fascinating art to others, hence becoming a hypnotherapy trainer.
In my private practice, I have treated thousands of clients, plus gained national and international recognition for my work and sports motivation.
I have over 14 years experience in the art and science of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. I run a successful practice and have a plethora of diplomas to my name.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is just what it says. It’s therapy in hypnosis, hypnotherapy is a huge field but the one key ingredient is hypnosis.
If you can’t hypnotise somebody then you may be a therapist but not a hypnotherapist.
Some larger schools have been known to evade this simple fact. Many gloss over the hypnosis side of training and focus more on psychotherapy – useful, but not hypnotherapy! As a hypnotherapy trainer, it is my goal to train you to a standard where you can set up in practice from the moment you gain your Diploma.
After deciding to focus on becoming a hypnotherapy trainer, I then undertook my teaching qualifications and began self-hypnosis training workshops.
Today, The Devon School of Hypnotherapy has progressed to full Diploma courses and is backed by the industry’s largest governing body the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
With more and more training schools springing up it does concern me that some schools do not train as fully as they could. It is my genuine belief that over 14 years of experience, skill and understanding (and several business mistakes in the early days) can provide students with a flying start.
